Childcare Funding
At Shirley Street Day Nursery we offer children to use their early years free entitlement (EYFE) funding without the requirements to pay for a top up. This means that you are able to send your child to us during our session times 8-1, 1-6, 8-6 using your funded hours and not requiring to pay anything, we do also offer adhoc sessions for families who require a shift pattern and their days need to change regularly (subject to availability).
We also allow the funding to be used term time only or you can choose to stretch the funding for the 51 weeks we are open and have your child attend all year round. If you wish for your child to attend any hours over their funded sessions these will be charged at £8 hourly, or we offer discounts on sessions.
In our funded only and charged sessions we provide all nappies, wipes, suncream, breakfast and snacks. You do have the option to bring your child in their own food for lunch and tea or pay for them to have hot meal and pudding. This is optional and charged at:
Cooked lunch and pudding | £3.35 |
Cooked Tea | £2.85 |
This means at Shirley Street Day Nursery we allow families to attend our session on funded only hours and we have no restriction on times or days. If a child attends funded only hours (e.g. 3 x 8-1 sessions term time only) they will be provided with breakfast, snacks and all curriculum activities with no additional charge. Parents have the option to pay £3.35 each day for lunch or bring in a packed lunch, leaving their total monthly invoice at £0.

Georgia and her team are friendly, professional, caring, personable people
Since Georgia and team took over the nursery it’s has gone from strength to strength. The overhaul of the nursery’s decoration has made it feel not only incredibly attractive but also very clean, new, neat and appealing. There are a fantastic range of toys and activities for the children and the outside area is utilised to its absolute maximum. Georgia and her team are friendly, professional, caring, personable people with whom I not only feel comfortable to leave my child with, but actively glad to know he’s there in their care.
Lovely staff and a lovely setting!
My youngest started going to Shirley Street 3 weeks ago. He’s just under 2, and hadn’t really been left much before so we were anxious about how he’d be but everyone here has been great! From giving us a call just to let me know that he’s happy after a tearful drop off, to the lovely tapestry updates so I can see what he’s been up to! Everyone there has made his first experience of childcare a very happy one! Lovely staff and a lovely setting!
